Bob Hope (b. May 29, 1903; d. July 27, 2003) was an American legend in film, television, broadway and as a comedian that dominated show business in the 20th century. Bob Hope was an American patriot that toured with the USO hundreds of times to entertain the troops, boost their morale and salute their efforts. In 1996, Hope was recognized by Congress as the "first and only honorary veteran of the U.S. armed forces." He had a love to make people laugh. Bob Hope had a passion for sports and was known as an avid golfer.
Early Life
Bob Hope was born Leslie Townes Hope in Eltham, England, the fifth of seven brothers. The family emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1908. [1]
