Cymbals are a very old instrument: they are mentioned in the [[Old Testament]] in Psalm 150:5, so we know that they were in use in King [[David]]'s time, centuries before the birth of [[Christ]], because everything in the Bible is true, even when it says that King Saul had no idea who David was when he slew Goliath, even though the previous chapter clearly mentions David being Saul's personal musician and friend..
