'''Buddhism''' is classified as the fifth largest religion in the world. It is a belief religious system which teaches that desire causes whose followers seek liberation from suffering and if desire is eliminated, enlightenment and through adherence to the teachings of the Buddha [[NirvanaSiddhartha Gautama]] . To Buddhists, sentient beings are attainedtrapped in an eternal cycle of death and rebirth (<i>samsara</i>) characterized by suffering (<i>dukkha</i>). Buddhism is provides a [[Dharmic religion]] practical set of teachings (the <i>dharma</i>) designed to help sentient beings escape samsara and is often viewed as achieve <i>nirvana</i>, a philosophy more than a religion because gods are not necessary or primary in Buddhist thought. Much state of modern Buddhism is atheistic or agnostic in practice. The term Buddha means "the enlightened onefreedom from suffering."
