Mezquita Mohamed Ali

Ali (599 - 661) was an early Muslim leader; the last of the 'Rightly Guided Caliphs'. Shiite Muslims believe that Ali was the true successor to Mohammed whereas Sunnis do not. This caused the rift between the two branches that has continued to this day.
