This article is self-contradictory.  You do realize that since we can see something that is 170,000 light years away, the universe has to be at least 170,000 years old, right?  Therefore either the "environment of the Milky Way" section is wrong, or the subsequent section (the 7000-years bit) is wrong.

This article seems to be extremely biased towards the big-bang/naturalistic worldview, giving the impression that such things as the age of the milky way being billions of years old is a fact.  I would like to redress the balance here, and add not simply ignore the problems with these assumptions.
