Theistic Evolution is a form of creationism that asserts that life evolved from a common ancestor and that at some point God intervened to give humans souls.[[1]] Theistic evolutionists (TEists) reject special creation of nature and its inhabitants and mankind as declared in Genesis chapters one and two. TEists accept the Theory of Evolution as representing reality in all aspects, including human evolution from an ape ancestor. Old Earth Creationists and Young Earth Creationists generally consider Theistic Evolution to be heretical or at best, contrary to Biblical teachins although many of them agree that correct knowledge of how God created humanity and such is not a necessary condition for salvation. Notable proponents of theistic evolution include the late Pope John Paul II[2] and biologist Ken Miller.
