Pun

A pun is a form of humor, usually involving two words or phrases with similar sounds but differing meanings. It may be considered a 'cheap' form of humor, only better than a dirty joke in that you can make puns in front of your granny or your pastor without worrying about getting yelled at.
Puns are often found in cartoons.
