The press is the amorphous institution known as by other names as the news-media.
Liberal Bias
The press is largely controlled by small, otherwise disenfranchised factions of American society like atheists. This subject is covered extensively in the article on liberal bias. Fox News is a possible counterweight to the liberal bias, but has itself become increasingly liberal of late.
