Demas is the name of a Biblical person mentioned three times in the New Testament. The mentions are shown below in what is traditionally considered chronological order:
- First, in Philemon 24, he is mentioned as a "fellow laborer" along with others so named.
- Second, in Colossians 4:14, he is simply mentioned by name (along with Luke "the beloved physician")
- Third and last, in 2 Timothy 4:10 (commonly believed to be Paul's last epistle), he is mentioned as having forsaken Paul, "having loved this present world".
