Intolerance

Intolerance (antonym to tolerance) is when one does not tolerate the ideas of another.
Intolerance is differentiated from mere disagreement in that intolerance is the denial, suppression, or negation of another individual or group's right to maintain their own ideas, beliefs, or behavior. It is manifested in the form of religious intolerance, discrimination, racism, bigotry and homophobia, as Corretta Scott King illustrates:
- "Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood." [1]
