Parallel

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by StevenM (Talk | contribs) at 23:58, October 25, 2007. It may differ significantly from current revision.

Lines that are parallel must not intersect at any point and they must be coplanar.

Parallel lines are important in discussions of Euclidian geometry. A postulate of Euclidean geometry is that given a line and a point, there is exactly one line through the point parallel to the original line. Non-Euclidian geometries allow for infinite or no parallel numbers of lines.
