Maastricht

Maastricht is a city in the Dutch province of Limburg, located on the River Maas in the far south of the Netherlands, close to the border with Belgium. It is notable in recent history as being the location for the signing in 1992 of the Maastricht Treaty, which paved the way for greater integration in the European Union.
