39 Steps (1935) is a Cold War spy thriller by Alfred Hitchcock, that was victimized as one of the Worst Liberal Snubs with zero Academy Award nominations. Today it is considered a ground-breaking movie that was one of the greatest ever made.

Perhaps the problem was that a hymn book unexpectedly saved a man's life in this movie.
