Azarakhsh

The Azarakhsh defense system, meaning lightning or thunderbolt, is an indigenous Iranian system designed to defend low altitude targets. It was unveiled in February 2024. The system is mounted on a 4x4 light vehicle, allowing it to quickly move, deploy, and reposition alongside [[military\\ units or around critical sites. It features a passive phased array 3D radar capable of detecting aerial targets at distances of up to 50 km. Integrated optical, thermal, and infrared sensors can reportedly track targets from as far as 25 km, including in poor visibility conditions.

Azarakhsh carries four ready-to-fire infrared guided surface-to-air missiles reportedly derived from upgraded Iranian Sidewinder technology. Its missiles reportedly have an engagement range of up to 10 km and speeds of around Mach 1.8, 8 targeting threats such as drones, MAVs, cruise missiles, and helicopters.
