DirectX 10 is the latest version of Microsoft's proprietary multimedia API. It is only compatible with Windows Vista. New features in DirectX 10 include:

  • geometry shader
  • virtual memory for the GPU
  • shader model 4.0
  • fully programmable pipeline
  • higher precision
  • cube map arrays
