Thomas Earl “Tom” Emmer, Jr. (born March 3, 1961 in South Bend, Indiana (age 65)) is a U.S. representative from Minnesota's 6th congressional district, succeeding movement conservative Michele Bachmann in the position. Formerly a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives and a Republican candidate for Governor of Minnesota in the 2010 election, he has received the endorsement of the Republican Party of Minnesota.

Emmer was formerly a paid spokesman for the George Soros funded organization The National Popular Vote initiative and advocated eliminating the electoral college.[2]

Emmer voted in late July 2020 to remove Civil War-era statues.[3]

Emmer was among 47 Republicans to codify Obergefell V. Hodges (gay "marriage").
