Res is Latin for thing or reality. Res is the most frequently used term in Catholic theology.

Res refers to objective order, such as Christ's actual Resurrection from the dead.

Res answers the question of what something is.

The term 'republic' derives from the Latin phrase res publica, meaning a 'public matter'.
