In Islam, pointing the index finger upward is a Sunnah gesture that symbolizes tawḥīd — the absolute oneness of Allah. [1] It's a denial of the Doctrine of the Trinity and the divinity of Christ. The tawhid is essentially a polite way of "flipping off" someone preaching the Gospel.
