Genetec
Genetec is a surveillance and physical security company, headquartered in Montreal, Quebec.[1] They were founded in 1997 and by 2026 they boasted having customers in 159 countries.[2] Although offering ordinary services door access controls and surveillance cameras, they also provide an ALRP-based mass surveillance system named AutoVuâ¢, which identifies and tracks vehicles. They retain this data for five years, providing their customers with a long history of everyone's movements and behaviors.[3] Although they are less known than their competitors (Flock, Axon, Vigilant, Rekoretc.), Genetec has still faced public backlash when attempting to deploy their vehicle tracing systems.[4]
Like their competitors, Genetic AutoVu scans all passing vehicles, and builds a historical record of each vehicle's moments over time. They can also automatically alert their customers when specific vehicles or interest are detected.[5]
