Dr. George Ritzer is an American author; he is most well known for his book The McDonaldization of Society.[1] He was born in New York City in 1940 and received a BA in psychology from the City College in New York, an MBA from the University of Michigan, and a PhD from Cornell University.[2] He is a distinguished university professor at the University of Maryland, and has chaired four sections of the American Sociological Organization.[3] He believes the conformity of McDonald's stifles creativity, and avoids eating there whenever he can.[4]
