Obstacles to faith

Obstacles to faith are observable reasons why some close their mind to faith. These include:

• Pride/sin and an unrepentant heart (Romans 1:28-32; 2 Peter 3:3-4).
• Poor Bible reading habits ("So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." - Romans 10:17 NKJV).
• a superficial understanding -- and thus overall misunderstanding -- of science along with taking personal pride in it. See: Limitations of science and Scientism

• "Little science takes you away from God but more of it takes you to Him." - Louis Pasteur

• misfortune, even tragedy, which one wrongly blames God for, without realizing that faith is how to overcome it.
• a mistranslation to the Bible that mistakenly alienates some from it.
• addiction, without realizing that faith is how one overcomes addiction
