Rank One Computing
Rank One Computing is a Denver Colorado company, which offers biometric, facial recognition, and Vision AI services. The company was founded by Brendan Klare and Josh Klontz in 2015.[1]
Rank One Computing offers artificial intelligence aided person identification services. They provide one-to-many facial recognition, fingerprint lookup, tattoo recognition, iris scanning, and automated license plate reading services. These services are mostly marketed to governments and law enforcement agencies, with the company advertising active contracts with the US Department of War (Department of Defense), US Department of State, US Navy, US Marshals Service, and the FBI.[2] For example, the Marshals Service uses facial recognition to confirm prisonersâ identities without fingerprinting them during transport.[3]
In 2026, news broke that Meta (Parent company of Facebook), had also signed a contract with Rank One, for facial recognition feature for their smart glasses. However, due to public backlash, Meta indicated that they would not be releasing this feature, at least for a time.[3][4]
