Rodolfo Hernández
Rodolfo Hernández (b. 26 March 1945) is a Colombian civil engineer and businessman who ran for president against the leftist Gustavo Petro in 2022 losing. He is often compared to President Donald Trump because of his anti-establishment attitude in his campaign in which he is anti-corruption however he is defined as a centrist candidate, taking right-wing economic postures against taxes and big government and also supporting the Peace Agreements with the FARCs as well as a social view.[1] Hernández was mayor of Bucaramanga from 2016 to 2019 were he applied his anti-corruption rhetoric.[2] He also emphasizes the importance of the family, of having an stable economy, private property[3] and doesn't want any alliances with establishment politicians. When he was mayor he donated his salary to students who needed to pay debt and he wants to condone that debt in his possible government.
