From 1948, militant conservative, liberal and communist groups fought against each other. In 1964 the Columbian army and the [[CIA]] won control over the cities. But , on the 5th May of 1966, the militant communists formed a guerilla organization, called the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. A second group was founded under the name [[Ejército de Liberación Nacional]] in 1964.
