::Voltaire was a deist and not an atheist. "Since Voltaire's death millions upon millions of Bibles in numerous languages have flooded the world. Today most people in our country have a copy of the Bible, but few have the writings of Voltaire! He is dead and gone, but the Bible lives on."[http://www.middletownbiblechurch.org/bofbooks/bookch13.htm] [[User:Conservative|Conservative]] 22:32, 28 April 2014 (EDT)

:::You sure about that? Had he been a deist, why would he try to promote atheism and irreligion? Naturally, deists would ally with Christians simply because we and they both believe in a god, not try to destroy religion outright, especially Christianity. At least, trying to destroy Christianity was what Timothy Dwight seemed to indicate in his speech. And if France is today a Christian Theocracy rather than an irreligious country due in part to the French Revolution (something that France's article even stated explicitly), I'd have a lot more comfort about your statements that the bible lives on, but I'm not even sure about that, especially when education is cramming down our throats that religion, including Christianity, is dying out, with even America just barely scraping by (and believe me, speaking as a Christian, the mere idea that Christianity is dying out is not comforting to hear, and in fact is horrifying).
