When RAFT's demands were not met, they went on strike. Students follow one of 11 curated Paths of Study or design their own program. At the end of each course, the student writes an self-evaluation called a "Academic Statement" and then the professor writes a "critical evaluation." There are no letter grades. Prior to the 2017 protests, the faculty established pipelines with various graduate schools that enabled Evergreen undergraduates to use their faculty recommendations to get accepted into programs to continue education. However, since 2017, the loss of established faculty and the decline in use of standardized tests for graduate admission has diminished the value of an Evergreen undergraduate degree.<ref name=academics>{{cite web|url=https://www.evergreen.edu/academics|title=Academics|accessdate=October 9, 2020}}</ref>
Evergreen's Native Pathways Program is for students who are connected and involved within Native American or Indigenous communities and culture.
