While [[President Trump]] was addressing a crowd of peaceful protesters a mile and half away from the Capitol building, and stressing the need for a peaceful assembly, Antifa terrorists were transported into the midst of a small group assembled outside the U.S. Capitol.  Capital Police then lifted the crowd barriers and allowed everyone to assemble on and near the Capitol steps. Antifa operatives then began assaulting police, [[MSM]] journalists, and started breaking windows on the building.  Capitol Police then opened the doors allowed the crowd into the building.

Sund asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. [[National Guard]] be placed on standby for quick backup. Sund said they turned him down.<ref>https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/sund-riot-national-guard/2021/01/10/fc2ce7d4-5384-11eb-a817-e5e7f8a406d6_story.html</ref>
