It is often expressed using terms such as "one world", support for a single world government, and/or terms such as "world citizen" or "global citizen". Some globalist groups such as the [[World Federalist Movement]], and some non-Christian religions such as [[Bahai]], actively campaign for world government. "Global" is a currently fashionable term in [[business]], where the term "international" would be more appropriate usage. A related term is "globalization", which refers to the treatment of the world's economies as a single unit or a "global [[economy]]".
The term "global" implies the world is a single unit while the term "international" recognizes that different countries, different cultures, different languages, different ethnicities, and national borders exist. Thus the two terms are not the same thing and using them interchangably is incorrect. It is currently fashionable to use the term "global" without realizing the implications of that term, when "international" is clearly the appropriate term.
Another term sometimes used which means the same thing as globalism is [[New World Order]].
