Executive privilege is the right of the [[Executive Branch]] to operate independantly of congress. The first call for executive privilege was made by our founding father George Washington in 1796. Congress demanded documents relating to the Jay treaty and George Washington cited executive privilege.
This is similar to what is going on with George W. Bush. Liberal congress is trying to interfere with him and he is trying to operate freely from them.
