whaling
'''Whaling''' is the commercial activity of harvesting and killing [[whale]]s in order to sell their oil and other components. It is an activity with an ancient history, but the efficiency of modern whaling techniques beginning in the 20th Century has driven many species of whales to the brink of extinction.
