The first formal meeting of the feminist party was the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York. Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott came up with the idea during another convention in London for equal rights for blacks. Stanton modeled the Declaration of Sentiments after the U.S. Declaration of Independence. She read it at the convention which was the first time women's right to vote was introduced, and this was the only sentiment that was strongly disliked by most. It then took until 1920, and the strength of many women, to get the right to vote.

And guess what, one of the sentiments was not having men be cheerleaders. Women have better things to fight for.
