~~===Hagee Controversy===~~

−

McCain has sought and secured the endorsement of John Hagee, a fundamentalist, religious right bigot who blames antisemitism on the Jews, and suggests that Hurricane Katrina is God's Wrath against New Orleans for having too many homosexuals. The implicit suggestion is that McCain believes, or is willing to pretend to believe, these same positions, despite his description of fundamentalist Christians as "agents of intolerance" in 2000. McCain has yet to explain this flip-flop.

Balanced Budget
McCain has emphasized reducing government spending over tax cuts. He is one of the Senate's most outspoken critics of pork barrel spending and has pledged to veto any bill with pork as President.
