If this were true, everyone could just pray and disease would go away. This clearly doesn't happen.

--It should. People just dont pray correctly - they always wish for selfish things. God is not a genie, granting wishes on request.
Germ theory is the naturalistic explantion for disease, but the examples to be found within the bible - God-sent and God-relieved plagues, the casting out of demons - show that there can be a ''supernatural'' cause for illness too.
