I'm a law student in the UK. I'm ''fairly'' left-wing when it comes to politics, but I reject the polarising nomenclature and the liberal/conservative dichotomy that seems so prevalent in US politics. I'm interested in music, languages, history, UK/European politics etc

I'm from Britain, where politics is no way near as polarised as it appears to be in America. Political classifications are thankfully pretty continuous over here, but I disagree with much of this website and suppose that in America I'd be something of a liberal. I'm a Christian, but before someone calls me a "liberal Christian", I'd like to suggest that "Christian liberal" might be more appropriate. The former suggests that I'm liberal not in politics but in my Christianity, which I do not think I am, although I am very tolerant other faiths and non-faiths as long as they are willing to reciprocate which I have found, on the whole, they are (but, of course, I don't live in Saudi Arabia). I have strong socialist sympathies, but at the same time recognise and deplore the devastation wreaked upon my particular tectonic plate by some of the children of that ideology. I generally consider myself a pacifist. I am a huge supporter of the NHS and have benefited considerably from it's existence. I support the stringent gun laws here in the UK.
