A deeply religious individual, Christopher is convinced that it was through God's providence that he survived a near-fatal motor vehicle accident in Guyana in 1978 (''God In Our Midst'', 2003, Xlibris Corp. pgs. 19-23). Apart from a number of minor injuries, he suffered a broken leg and an almost severed right hand. An account of the 1978 accident and the mention of other "miracles" in his life are contained in Persaud's 2003 book, ''God In Our Midst'' (Xlibris Corporation, USA). Persaud's other books include ''Famous People Speak About Jesus'' (Xlibris Corporation, 2004); ''Transformed Lives'' (Xlibris Corporation, 2005) and ''Evolution: Beyond the Realm of Real Science'' (Xulon Press, USA, 2007). Among Christopher's literary accomplishments is winning a writing contest sponsored by Xulon Press, USA in 2007. His contribution, ''A Christian Woman,'' about his beloved mother Ruth, is showcased in the book ''Memories of Mother - Inspiring Real Life Stories of How Mothers Touch Our Lives'' (Xulon Press, USA, 2007).

Among Christopher's literary accomplishments is being selected Grand Prize Winner in the 2008 national Christian Choice Book Awards contest for his work ''Evolution: Beyond the Realm of Real Science'' (Xulon Press, USA, 2007), the latter book being named ''Christian Choice Book of the Year.'' Each year's Grand Prize Winner is honored nationally in print and on the radio and is featured in a radio advertisement on more than 100 Christian radio stations nationwide.
