a start

The '''New Revised Standard Version''' is an update of the [[Revised Standard Version]] that was released in 1989.

This translation improved some of the archaic language in the RSV, but also injected some gender-neutral language and changed the prophesy in Isaiah about Mary, the mother of Jesus, from "virgin" to "young woman."

This translation is owned by the [[liberal]] National Council of Churches.

Subsequently the English Standard Version was released to revert the foregoing liberal changes.
