The campus is also the site of the former Forbes Field, home of the [[Pittsburgh Pirates]] baseball team until 1970, when it was torn down. There is still a piece of the outfield wall left intact, and home plate is located in a glass case on the floor of a newer building on campus, the Forbes Quadrangle.

==Petersen Events Center==
The Petersen Events Center is one of the newest buildings on campus, built on the site of the former Pitt Stadium, home of the Pittsburgh Panthers football team (the team now plays at [[Heinz Field]], home of the [[Pittsburgh Steelers]]). In 'The Pete', the Pittsburgh Panthers men's and women's varsity basketball teams play their home games, and it is also a concert venue.
