::Good idea.  If there's one thing an encyclopedia shouldn't have, it's small, unimportant articles about trivia.  Conservapedia should have three articles, total: one for the Bible, one for George W. Bush, and one for Why Liberals are Evil!

:We should get rid of this rubbish.  It may confuse those people who don't understand.  It also tries to make fun of an important subject. --bill m 12:07, 29 March 2007 (EDT) 14:31, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

Just because it's silly, doesn't mean it's real.  Will you get rid of The Onion as well? Czolgolz 14:40, 30 March 2007 (EDT)

This really should be rewritten to make it clear that it's a parody.  I disagree that it should be deleted, as it's been around considerably longer than parody religions like "Pastafarianism."  --Benp 22:45, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

As a 20+ year card-carrying member of the Church of the SubG, I was pleasantly surprised by the scope and factual correctness of most of this article.  There are two significant problems with it, however.  There is no reference cited for the statement, "The SubGenius mythology is large, confusing and somewhat absurd to outsiders, but is taken very seriously by paid-up members of the cult."  I would be quite interested in what citation COULD be given, as in over 20 years I have never met a SubG who actually believes the mythology of the SubG.  I can provide several references to the fact that SubG do NOT believe that their "gods" are real (including court testimony) if needed. Secondly, the article repeatedly refers to the SubG as a cult, when it fails to meet even the most basic criterion to be called a cult: it is a spoof religion, not a real religion.  It is incorrect for this article to be in the cult category, and further misleading to link it to Heavens Gate, 7th Day Adventists, etc, in its "See also" section, as they are groups with which the SubG share no ideology or practice.  This article should be treated the same as the article on the Flying Spaghetti Monster: as a spoof religion in the culture category.  In its current state it is misleading to your readers and betrays the amount of research and work that went into it.
