Franklin Pierce was the 14th [[president]] of the [[United States]]. He served as the president from 1853-1857.
Franklin Pierce was the 14th [[president]] of the [[United States]]. He served as the president from 1853-1857. Pierce was a [[democrat]] and a northerner known to have southern sympathies.
Prior to being elected, Pierce served in both the House and Senate and achieved the rank of [[brigadier general]] in the [[Mexican-American War]].
Pierce died on October 8, 1969 in Concord, New Hampshire from cirrhosis of the liver.
