I'm not really wanting to contribute to these proceedings, but there is one relevant issue which I've just mentioned to Aschlafly. When users are blocked, they see a screen suggesting they email the user that blocked them. If it's agreed that that won't be policy, the screen ought to be amended accordingly.--[[User:CPalmer|CPalmer]] 07:30, 18 August 2011 (EDT)

:http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgBlockAllowsUTEdit – Would enabling blocked users to appeal via their talk page be an acceptable option? Currently, this setting is set to "false" here, so blocked users can't use their talk page, unlike Wikipedia. If this setting is set to "true", a sysop may still deny a blocked user access to his or her talk page by unchecking the "Allow this user to edit own talk page while blocked" box. Finding the Email of a sysop was an issue I had when I attempted to appeal my block. --[[User:Michaeldsuarez|Michaeldsuarez]] 21:39, 21 August 2011 (EDT)
