my response to "interpretation" of the Bible
Line 13: Line 13:
::Yes. As for those verses, I have read and heard that the original Greek would translate that would mean "who does not keep on sinning". It is rather clear in the Bible that every person has sinned and that we need salvation. Humans are corrupt, and in this life we will never live without sin. Once we are in Heaven and receive our new bodies, we will not sin.--GFitz 16:55, 27 December 2011 (EST)

:::Here's my problem with that.  Christians who use hand-waving arguments to "interpret" the Bible in line with what they've heard somewhere that the "original Greek" says have managed to "prove" just about anything, in which case their methods actually prove nothing at all.  I believe in a God Who is fully capable of preserving His Word so that we can rely on its plain meaning.  Finally, as for whether every person has sinned, I've already stated as much, so you're attacking a straw man.  DavidE 14:07, 23 January 2012 (EST)
