Gran Turismo

Gran Turismo is a simulation racing game produced by Polyphony Digital and touted as the real driving simulator. It was an unexpected success story when released in 1997, becoming hugely popular. There have been four other major versions with Gran Turismo 5 released in late 2010, however due to lengthy delays between each release there have been many more secondary releases to keep fans interested.
Gran Turismo initially distinguished itself from similar games by featuring large numbers of cars with the ability to very finely modify and tune them. In doing this, however, it set a new standard in customisation and now many games allow for similar levels of modification.
