Mohamed Morsi is the current president of Egypt. The head of the Freedom and Justice party, the Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, Morsi is Egypt's first democratically-elected civilian president.[1]
Morsi was born in 1951, and studied engineering at Cairo University, before receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 1982.[2]. He then went on to teach at California State University, Northridge.[3] After teaching there for some years he returned to Egypt, and was an MP from 2000 - 2005.[4]
