The BBC (The British Broadcasting Corporation) is public sector television and radio broadcaster in the United Kingdom. In terms of audience figures, it is the largest broadcaster in the world. It was founded in London in 1927 by horrible British people who spell funny. Its previous Director General, Greg Dyke, left the company on 29th January, 2004 after considerable stick from the Hutton Enquiry for various things, including being too English. The current D-G is Mark Thompson, who is really nice.
