Article 9 is the provision of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) that governs secured transactions, including consignments.
An electronic UCC financing statement is filed to protect the secured party's legal interests. In many states, this form is available online.[1] Before filing a UCC financing statement, it is necessary to confirm the legal status of a corporate debtor and to use its precise legal name.[2][3]
