Black Thursday

Oct. 24, 1929 is referred to as “Black Thursday.” On this day the New York stock exchange crashed, signaling the beginning of The Great Depression in the United States. Many lost everything and the economies of European nations were also suffered in the wake of the depression.
The US eventually recovered from the Depression due to the mobilization of the country's economy in World War II. Some liberals like to claim that President [{Franklin Delano Roosevelt]]'s New Deal policies helped, but that is incorrect.
