Feminism

Feminism, contrary to popular belief, is the movement to end discrimination between ALL genders. The followers of feminism are referred to as feminists. Many unkind words and phrases are used instead of the preferred term, "feminist", such as:

• femi-nazi
• man hater
• hairy legs

There are many other terms but these are more, how would I put it, popular.

From the moment you emerged from your mother's vagina you have been exposed to the nightmare that is gender roles. Before you could talk you were swaddled in blankets of blue or pink, depending on your sex. You were told how to wear your hair and what to wear and how to act. How to not cry, be manly. How to be polite, be "lady-like". I know you've heard that, maybe you've even told YOUR children that. You would never know that was wrong or different, until now. I'm here to tell you that what you've been taught is wrong. What you teach is wrong. I am a feminist and I'm here to say "enough is enough". I am not a man hater. I am not a bitch who wants to throw the patriarchy in the dust to give way to the matriarchy. No, I want the patriarchy gone, sure. But in its place equality will rise. In its place people will be free and equal and kind. In the wake of crushed dreams and hopes we will follow, picking up the pieces and rebuilding what is rightfully ours. Rightfully human.

I needn't explain much more. Those words should stick in your mind and stay there. Changes your ways, keep you up till the crack of dawn. Making you think about what your ancestors have done to this "free" country. We are not free yet when young girls are afraid to walk home at night. We are not yet free when a man can rape a woman and say she was asking for it based on her clothing. And we are not yet free when young men can't talk about their feelings without being called a pussy and losing a friend.
