Mikhail Prokhorov is a Russian businessman reportedly worth $17 billion. He owns the gold producer Polyus Gold.
A fitness enthusiast himself, Prokhorov purchased an 80% share of the struggling New Jersey Nets basketball team for about $200 million.
In December of 2011 he announced that he would challenge Vladimir Putin in his run for president.[1]
