A Belgian Shepherd (also called a Belgian Sheepdog) is a breed of herding dog. There are three subbreeds, the Malinois, the Laekenois, and the Tervuren. The Belgian Malinois is a popular breed for military use, particularly special forces. Sometimes, a Malinois is bred with a German Shepherd. This cross breed is especially popular with the military. It is rumored to be the breed of some of the dogs used on the mission to kill bin Laden.
