Romance language

The Romance languages (the largest branch of the Indo-European languages family) refers to any language which descended directly from Latin, the language of the Roman Empire. The four largest Romance languages are Spanish, French, Portugese, and Italian, though other, lesser widely-spoken romance languages exist.
